The 4th Xl came up with a narrow one wicket win
at home to Witcham 2nd Xl, but remain in the bottom two places in CCA Junior
League Division 4A.
It was the fourths second victory in a row - this one inspired by James
Shepherd, who scored 61 and took three wickets.
He took 3-44 as Witcham were bowled out for 179 at
the Neale Wade ground. Sam Mason and Bill Adamson
also picked up two wickets apiece.
Victory looked on the cards as Dennis Furnell (26) and Shepherd built up a
healthy second wicket partnership. Ashley Impey (12) and Glen Hulley (28) pushed
the total closer, but at the death it was left to young Jacob Gray (13no) and
Adamson to edge the fourth team home with 11 balls to spare.
