Chatteris easily won their Fenland Trophy game at March on Sunday by 93 runs thanks to a magnificent undefeated opening partnership of 276 - one of the highest first wicket stands ever seen at The Avenue.

Kurt Cunningham and Anthony Palmer, both blazed centuries for the visitors, who now top the table. 

Former March first team player Cunningham struck 21 boundaries, including a 'six' in his 157,  to add to the ton he scored in the earlier game against their local rivals in July, while Palmer hit 103 (10 fours and two sixes’).  The only March bowler to have any respectable figures was experienced opening bowler Stuart Arnold who bowled his eight overs for 30 runs.

Although the home side added 51 for the first wicket due to a hard hitting 32 by Lewis Hilliard, March never looked like reaching the demanding target, despite useful contributions by Brett Tinnion 32, Stephen Wallis 28, Gary Nicholls 28 and 14-year-old Toby Nulty 28. They finished on 183-8.
